Arkansas tax sales: how they work

Last reviewed Aug 10, 20261 county covered
Sale type
Tax deed, sold by the Commissioner of State Lands
Redemption period
90 days after the sale for the former owner to redeem
Interest rate
n/a (Arkansas is a deed state)
Bidding format
Public auction by county. Parcels that do not sell become available for direct purchase statewide through the COSL post-auction list.

Arkansas centralises tax-delinquent land at the Commissioner of State Lands rather than leaving it with counties. Parcels unsold at auction can be bought directly, which makes it one of the more accessible states for over-the-counter deed buyers.
